International adaptations
Several countries attempted to adapt the concept: a British version was considered in the 90s, as well as a Japanese adaptation that never materialized. Germany produced a similar series called "Das A-Team" but without official connection.

Cancelled projects

A-Team 2 (2010 film sequel)
A sequel was planned with the return of the original cast, but mixed box office results ($177M for a $110M budget) led to the project's cancellation. The screenwriters had already begun working on a plot involving Face as the leader.

A-Team: The New Generation
NBC had commissioned a pilot for a spin-off series featuring the children of the original A-Team members. The project was abandoned after George Peppard's death in 1994, and preliminary audience tests were disappointing.

Crossover with MacGyver
A special episode crossing A-Team and MacGyver was in development at ABC in the 80s. The idea was for MacGyver to help the team escape from a high-security prison. The project was cancelled due to scheduling conflicts and rights issues between networks.

Parodies and references

South Park - "A Ladder to Heaven"
Episode directly parodying the A-Team with children forming their own mercenary team. The cult phrase "I love it when a plan comes together" is adapted with South Park's characteristic humor.

Family Guy – Multiple references
The series makes numerous references to the A-Team, notably with Peter Griffin imitating B.A. Baracus and his fear of flying. The opening credits are also parodied in several episodes with Family Guy's typical absurd situations.

Several Simpsons episodes reference the A-Team, particularly when Homer forms a team to solve problems. The A-Team's black van appears in the background of certain episodes.

The A-Team concept has been widely used in advertising: Snickers (with Mr. T), Old Spice, and numerous automotive brands. The "team of specialists solving problems" format has become a recurring trope.

Emmy Awards
The series was nominated several times for Emmy Awards, mainly in technical categories: Best Editing for a Drama Series (1984, 1985), Best Sound Effects (1983, 1984), and Best Stunt Coordination (1986).

People's Choice Awards
The A-Team won the People's Choice Award for "Favorite Drama Series" in 1984 and was nominated three consecutive years (1983-1985). Mr. T was also nominated for "Favorite TV Actor" in 1984.

Golden Globe Awards
George Peppard was nominated for the Golden Globe for "Best Actor in a Television Series - Drama" in 1984. The series itself was nominated for "Best Television Series - Drama" the same year.

International recognition
The series won several international awards: Rose d'Or in Montreux for best action series (1985), Audience Award at the Monte-Carlo Festival (1984), and was ranked in the top 10 most exported series of the 80s by Variety.
